Great for backpackers, overlanders, and anyone who just loves to sleep under the stars. The campsite is in a shady, natural grove of trees set away from the main lodge and restaurant to give campers a feeling of being away from it all, but in fact, it’s only a short stroll away from everything you’ll need. You'll often see warthogs and friendly monkeys near the campground--confirming that you are indeed immersed in nature.
The campsite can comfortably accommodate up to 40 people with ample space for parking. If you don’t have your own tent, you can stay in one of two permanent double tents furnished with two twin beds with fresh linens that can be converted to a king-sized bed. The shared bathrooms are well kept and offer steaming hot showers. Electrical outlets and a covered area for washing dishes and laundry makes your camping experience hassle-free.
Designated fire areas are available for cooking and wood is provided; however you would need to bring your own grill. Currently, the nearest shop is in the town of Vila Gorongosa a 1.5 hr drive from Chitengo – so we recommended that you buy supplies en-route and before you arrive.
