Gorongosa is a wonderful place. I had read a lot about the park and the work that you are doing before arriving but nothing could compare to seeing it for myself. I wasn't sure of what to expect since I had never been to Mozambique before but Gorongosa proved to be a great experience.

We arrived on August 7th, 2013 after a week in Maputo and stayed until August 11th.  Although we were only there for a few days, we had an incredible experience. The park staff knew their stuff and our guide, Simba, was awesome. Simba went above and beyond to tell us about the park, the work you are doing and its impact on the surrounding communities. All of the park staff were polite, professional and friendly. The park was/is run very well.

We were able to take advantage of the morning game drive, the hike to Vinho Community, the hike up to the waterfalls and watching a beautiful sunset at Bué Maria. As much as I enjoyed seeing the wildlife, I really enjoyed the trip to the Vinho Community and the people we met along our hike to the waterfalls. A place more than the physical surroundings - it is the people that live there that define it. Gorongosa not only embraces the surrounding communities but has become part of them.

You are doing good work. I only wish you the best in your continued efforts. You have gained another supporter. – David Rubedor (USA)
