ERA (girls education) program Manager
I am Larissa Sousa, I work as the Manager for the Girls Education Program (Girls Clubs) in Gorongosa National Park. Our main objective is keeping girls in schools, and helping them to better their reading skills. I was very happy to be invited to join the GRP team to help change lives of many woman and girls around the buffer zone as well as raise awareness on conservation in general.
I have a diverse educational background, I did my primary school (1st to 7th grade) in Chimoio where I learnt the national Mozambican curriculum, then I did my high school in Chiremera but changed into the Cambridge curriculum, which led me to do my Bachelors degree in International Business Administration in Finland. I just finished my Masters Degree in Business Administration following up Bachelor in business.
Prior to joining the Park, I worked in different places in Germany being mainly at Daimler-Benz as the person of contact for the PLS (ProductionLearningSystem) program between Germany and Brazil. And here in Mozambique I worked for the school called Centro Educacional Njerenje as the Assistant Administrator and as a Location Manager for the American Demining Project called The HALO Trust in Chimoio.
