The seasons of Gorongosa are as varied as its landscapes. With the passage of time, comes changing colors, movement of animals, new births, times of drought, and times of plenty. Gorongosa is a place of extremes and during its heaviest wet season (December - Early March) the Park is closed to tourists and roads are impassible.
Visit just after the wet season, and you’ll find a kaleidoscope of change uncovered by the retreating rains. Or visit in the dry season and you’ll experience the golden hue of the summer months, when wildlife viewing is superb as animals congregate around dwindling pans. Gorongosa has a story for every season.
