The Baobab Pride is a mysterious, elusive and very interesting pride. Even though their territory partly encompasses the floodplains around Road 9 and Lion House, they are rarely seen by day. If you are fortunate, you will observe them on the hunt at dawn on the floodplain or hear them roar from Baobab Hill and Lion House.
We are working to better understand and document this group of lions, and in 2013 we hope to begin tracking them more closely using satellite technology. In May of 2012, utilizing remote cameras funded by Zoo Boise Conservation Fund we documented the pride had sired 5 cubs!
