Stop 6: Pemba to Gorongosa National Park!

April 16, 2013

We are lucky to be under a tin roof during the driving rains. Behind me, there’s Mozambique hard wood moving north to Tanzania. It’s a sad fact that the forests are disappearing here.

Finally, the rain stops but this was still "Damp Camp" in the wilderness of northern Mozambique.

The "Mcel" phone credit salesmen were perplexed by the SAT phone. What? No credit top off?

This is a Portuguese fort on the Isle of Mozambique from the1500s. Amazing!

We meet lots of friends at this “Dog Camp” on the Mozambique coast.

4,000 km later......... we finally reach Gorongosa!
